A password generator creates strong random passwords right in your browser — the password never leaves your device and is never stored anywhere. You choose the length (6 to 64 characters) and the character set: uppercase and lowercase letters, digits, special symbols, with an option to exclude look-alike characters (lI, O0) and avoid consecutive repeats.

A strong password comes down mainly to length and character variety. Short dictionary passwords can be cracked in seconds, so for important accounts use 16+ characters covering every character group, and a unique password per service. The 1-to-5 strength meter shows how resilient your current choice is. It's best to store a generated password in a password manager rather than trying to memorize it.

Generation happens entirely offline and without sign-up: values are computed in your browser, and nothing is sent to a server. Click refresh for a new password, and copy it with a single button.

Frequently asked questions

Nowhere. The password is created right in your browser using JavaScript — we never store or transmit it. You could even disconnect from the internet after the page loads.
At least 12 characters mixing different classes (uppercase and lowercase letters, digits, and symbols). A "strong" or "very strong" rating (4–5 out of 5) is what you want for important accounts.
It removes characters like lI, O0, 1 that are easy to mix up when copying a password by hand. Security drops slightly since the character pool shrinks, but that's offset by using a longer password.
This option prevents two identical characters in a row (like aaXyZ). It's purely cosmetic and has no effect on cryptographic strength.
