Data Size Converter
Bytes, kilobytes, megabytes, gigabytes, terabytes.
The data size converter translates values between bits, bytes, kilobytes (KB), megabytes (MB), gigabytes (GB) and terabytes (TB). Type a number into any field and the rest recalculate instantly.
This conversion helps you understand the real size of a file, the capacity of a drive or flash stick, an upload limit, or your data traffic. The calculation uses the binary scale (×1024), the same way operating systems display file sizes: 1 KB = 1024 bytes, 1 MB = 1024 KB, 1 GB = 1024 MB. It's also worth remembering the difference between bits and bytes: 1 byte = 8 bits, so an internet speed of "100 Mbps" is only about 12.5 MB/s of real download throughput.
Because operating systems count in binary (×1024) while drive manufacturers count in decimal (×1000), a "1 TB" drive shows up as less in your OS. Everything is calculated right in your browser, with no data sent anywhere.
