This converter extracts the audio track from a video. The most common use case is MP4 to MP3: pulling music, a voiceover or a podcast out of a video clip so you can listen without the picture, set it as a ringtone, or load it onto a music player. The video is discarded and only the audio remains.

Output options include MP3 (universal, works on any device), WAV (uncompressed, for editing), AAC/M4A (smaller than MP3 at the same quality), OGG (an open format), and FLAC (lossless). Conversion runs on the server via ffmpeg, so there's nothing to install, and the file is deleted immediately after processing and never stored anywhere. MP3 output uses a high variable bitrate (VBR, ~190 kbps) for a good balance of quality and size. The maximum source file size is 50 MB, so this tool is built for short clips rather than full-length video.
